On a more personal note – where it all began.

Several months of brainstorming, second-guessing the whole idea, and countless hours squirreling away in the corner of local cafes has finally led to you reading this. The idea for this website and blog was conceived one crisp springtime afternoon on the slopes of Mt Somers, on a prickly off-trail hike to the summit. My adventure companion and I were perched on a rock taking a breather and admiring the vista over the sprawling Canterbury plains. This is where I had my lightbulb moment. It dawned on me that these are the moments where I really feel like life can’t get any better. I want to share it all with everyone and anyone that will listen. Make it Dirt was born.

It’s an outlet to share my inner spark for fun and adventure. It’s a way to show that what I do with my spare time is an awesome kind of crazy.

It began as a way to share my bacon-fueled and kumara chip-rewarded adventures, but it has morphed into so much more. So what are you waiting for? Join the Make it Dirt community by signing up to email updates, or follow on Facebook and Instagram
